Sailor Moon Forever: A New Beginning |
Serena Tsukino looked out her window onto Azabu with a heavy
heart. It was heartbreaking to know that she was going to leave
Tokyo, Japan, the only home she had known for her whole life. She
would have to leave Molly, Melvin, Ms. Haruna, her friends the
Sailor Scouts, and more importantly, Darian Shields, her
boyfriend.
Mrs. Tsukino stepped into
Serena's bedroom, followed by Luna the cat.
"I know this is hard
for you. But it's a great opportunity for your father's career.
And besides, Florida is really nice in the summer. Plus, Lita
will be there." Mrs. Tsukino said. Serena remembered Lita,
who left to Florida to live with foster parents. She had said she
hated Florida.
"Yeah, Mom. But I'm
gonna miss Tokyo. Big time." Serena said glumly.
Mrs. Tsukino ruffled her daughter's neatly done hair. "I'm
going to miss Tokyo too. So is Sammy and your father. But
sometimes things change. Wouldn't you like to live somewhere else
for a change? Plus, we're going to Disneyworld for
Christmas." Serena's mother continued. Serena sighed loudly.
"Okay, Mom. I'll
finish packing." Serena said glumly. "That's my
girl" Mrs. Tsukino said as she left the room. Big tears
welled in Serena's eyes.
"Oh, Luna, I
don't wanna leave!" she whined. Luna jumped onto the bed and
sat on her haunches.
"Serena, I have
some important news for you." Luna began. Serena wiped her
eyes and turned to the cat. "I thought that the evil forces
were gone for good. I mean, after the Wiseman and
everything." she continued, looking at Serena. "But
they aren't. There is a certain woman from the past; Beryl's
past, that is here to finish Beryl's dirty work."
"Oh, Luna! Beryl
and the Negaforce are long gone! What do you mean, that some
friend of Beryl's is here to bring the Negaforce back to
life?" Serena cried.
"Something like
that, yes. You see, before the Silver Milennium, the peaceful
time, there was a dark time, the Dark Century, in which a
princess from the Saturnian moon Iapetus decided that she wanted
her own kingdom. Her name was Ziondra, and she had a daughter
named Nayana." Luna explained. Serena perked up.
"You know, Luna,
have you ever noticed that all of the villians we've fought had
names similar to names of a mineral or a precious stone, like
Emerald, Malachite, Prince Diamond? Funny thing is, the names
Ziondra and Nayana aren't names of a mineral or precious stone.
Weird." she said.
"Serena! That's
not important right now! What's important is that you know at
least Ziondra's history. So, the Saturnian princess left our
galaxy and went to the Andromeda galaxy, where she ruled an
entire fifteen planet solar system. In that solar system there
was a gateway to the Negaverse, which was the dimension Beryl, a
very distant relative of Ziondra, ruled.
"Well, a war
broke out between our solar system and Ziondra's solar system.
Ziondra's daughter Nayana knew that her mother was evil, so she
joined Queen Serenity's army rather than her own mother's army.
Ziondra was bitter over it, and she proceeded to destroy all of
the planetary kingsoms - Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter,
Solaris, which became a huge ball of radioactive energy - like a
star - and all of the other planetary kingdoms. Except the Moon
Kingdom and the Earth Kingdom. Finally, before Ziondra could
finish off the last remaining kingdoms, Serenity's armies beat
Ziondra back, if you can believe that. Finally, the hundred year
war ended, Beryl took over both the Negaverse and Ziondra's solar
system, and Ziondra went to trial for treason. She was found
guilty and was sentenced to death.
"While Ziondra
awaited her sentence, a seeress gave Ziondra everlasting life. If
Ziondra's physical body was destroyed, her spirit could invade
the body she chooses so she could live a normal life in our
dimension. But without the physical body, she would dwell in a
different dimension. This same spell was cast on the remaining
members of her court as well.
"So, she was
executed, her court executed, and thus, the Silver Milennium
began. During this time, Beryl strengthened her armies for the
invasion that took place a thousand years later, which marked the
end of the Silver Milennium." Luna finished. Serena sighed
happily.
"That is totally
amazing Luna. But what happened to Nayana?" Serena asked.
"Nayana? Oh, she
became what we call a Sailor Guardian, a faithful Guardian to
humans, against all evil. She would be Sailor Iapetus, under the
command of Sailor Saturn. That is another thing I wanted to tell
you. Artemis told me that Nayana may be living in Florida, along
with the other Guardians, and we must find them so that we may be
strong enough to fight Ziondra. I believe Ziondra has found a
human to live in." Luna explained.
"So, Ziondra must
know about Beryl, and how Beryl, the two Aliens, Ann and Alan,
the Negamoon Family, the Deathbusters, the Dead Moon Circus, and
Galaxia and the Sailor Animates got beaten by us. And now that
they're all gone, she has decided that this would be the perfect
time to finish what Beryl started - to release the Negaforce! Oh
my god, Luna, we've gotta tell the others!" Serena cried.
She ran out of the room, Luna close behind.
Serena rushed over to Cherry Hill Temple after paging the
remaining Scouts. Raye was sitting on the porch glumly. Mina was
petting Artemis, Amy was typing stuff in her special Mercury
computer, Michelle, Amara and Trista were looking at a newspaper.
"You guys! Some
lady named Ziondra is gonna finish what Beryl started! It's back
to square one all over again!" Serena shrieked. Raye sighed
loudly.
"Serena, who told
you that?" asked Raye in a scornful voice. Luna stepped up.
"I did, Raye. All
of you need to hear this." Luna said, then proceeded to tell
the girls the same story she told Serena earlier in the day.
Amara looked at Luna and said,
"So, this Queen
Ziondra person is dwelling in the States, where the Sailor
Guardians are at? Are you pulling our legs, Luna?"
"No. This is all
true. I have very strong vibes. Thing is, we need all of the
Scouts whenever it is time to fight Ziondra. Unfortunately, only
two known Scouts will be in Florida. Jupiter and Moon. What are
we going to do?" Luna replied. Amy looked up from her
computer.
"Scouts
Teleportation? I mean, we could do that." Amy suggested.
Suddenly Luna perked up.
"I've got a
better idea! A much, much better idea! Oh, why didn't I think of
this before?" Luna cried. Mina scowled.
"Don't keep us in
suspense, Luna. What is it?" she asked.
"I can upgrade
your powers! Eternal Sailor Moon will become Magical Sailor Moon,
complete with the amazing ability to fly!" Luna said
excitedly. The girls leaned in closer, interested. "I can
give you a very powerful compact - each of you. You all
will have powers based on ancient magic spells once performed by
the seeress Ziondra used." the cat continued.
"Wow! That sounds
really, really cool. So, can we have the powers now?" Mina
said excitedly. Artemis looked at them and said soberly,
"Obtaining these
powers will not be easy. We need the seeress's old spell books to
cast special spells on your transformation pens, so that they can
carry the powers the seeress once possessd. Which means that we
will need Amy to look up information on her computer and Raye to
consult her special spirits." Raye perked up and went off to
her special room. She started the fire and began the ritual.
After it was finished, she returned to the temple's front porch,
where Amy was consulting her special data computer.
"The seeress
seemed to be Native American, and it says here that she was from
Earth. She was very powerful and has existed since the dawn of
man." Amy was saying as Raye bounded down the steps.
"You guys, the
seeress was named Riva and she was Indian or something like that.
She lived in Oregon, long before the colonists from England
crossed the sea; long before anybody discovered America!"
Raye announced. Amy gasped.
"Wow! All that
waiting paid off - it says the same thing here. And more."
she replied. The others leaned in close. "Riva not only
practiced magic from her own native tribe, she used voodoo
spells, spells from other Native American tribes, and indulged in
Satanic magic and spells. This girl was also psychic. Woah. She
knew quite a lot of magic." Amy continued. Michelle sighed.
"But how do we
get the magic she possessed? We're going to need that magic when
Ziondra crosses to our dimension." Michelle argued. Trista
nodded.
"We can also use
that magic against Ziondra. We can use that magic to prevent her
entrance into our dimension." Trista suggested. Luna sighed.
"We need to come
up with a way to learn Riva's magic. Amy, Raye, keep trying to
figure out a way to get Riva's magic. We will meet here at the
same time tomorrow." Luna said. The girls nodded silently
and left.
In another dimension,
the one known as Ziondra prepared for her arrival into the
humans' realm. It was only a matter of time before she entered,
to finish what Beryl started. Ziondra handpicked the person she
wanted to posess. The person who will finish Beryl's work.
An American teacher,
two years into her teaching career. She was on the verge of
starting her third year of teaching at a private academy in
Florida. The same academy Lita Kino attended.
The time drew nearer
and nearer.......
Across the world in
Florida, Lita Kino stared out the window of her new home. She
lived with foster parents now, after it was discovered that she
was a teenager living alone. She left Tokyo shortly after school
was let out for the summer. Now she lived in Pensacola, in a
large stone house with the Johnsons - Fiona, a prim, proper woman
who may be the cruelest woman alive. She made Kaolinite seem like
a saint. Fiona was from New York, and had a New York accent. And
she made poor Lita's life a living hell. Fiona loved expensive
dresses, and was a big flirt. Her husband, David, was a complete
womanizer, and regretted the day he married Fiona. But he was
very nice to Lita. He was frugal, and hated to spend tons of
money - something Fiona loved to do.
Right now, Mr. Johnson was on a
business trip (he was a business executive) and Mrs. Johnson (who
tells everybody she's depressed) was punishing Lita for wearing a
sleek skirt to school. Mrs. Johnson was a very vain woman. She
was a bulimic and a self-mutilator - all a sleek little ploy to
make her husband and Lita feel sorry for her. Lita sighed
angrily. She wanted to call Mina collect, but Mrs. Johnson
forbade Lita to make telephone calls.
"God, I wish she would give
it up." Lita muttered to herself as she crossed the room to
turn her stereo up. Mrs. Johnson was screaming at her secret
lover because he wanted to call it quits. She screamed and
hollered in her never ending effort to gain sympathy from others.
Suddenly, Lita's phone rang. Lita jumped up and answered it.
"Hello, Johnson
residence." Lita greeted.
"Lita! Guess what! I'm moving
to Pensacola! Isn't that great?" Serena shrieked on the
other line.
"Ohmigod, Serena, you know
long distance calls are forbidden in my house. But never mind
that. When are you coming?" Lita responded.
"In September. That's only a
month away. We might go to the same school too. Which one are you
going to?" Serena answered.
"Calvary Christian Academy in
Fort Walton Beach. It's about an hour's drive from Pensacola.
It's a private academy, but we don't have to wear uniforms."
Lita said. But before Serena could squeal in delight, she
continued. "But, they have a strict dress code. We have to
wear long skirts every day and we're not allowed to wear tank
tops." she lamented. Serena groaned.
"Well, I guess it's
better than uniforms. Well, I wouldn't want evil Fiona catching
you, so I'm gonna go. You take care, alright?" Serena said.
"Thanks. You too. Tell
everyone I miss them and I'll see you in September!" Lita
said.
"Bye." was
Serena's reply and the two hung up.
Exactly one month later,
Serena, her brother Sammy, her parents, and Luna were boarding
flight 52 on United Airlines headed to Pensacola. Narita
International Airport had been crowded as always, and had taken
the Tsukinos a half hour to find the gate.
Serena settled down in her
seat by the window in economy class. Luna in her cage sat in the
middle seat and Sammy sat on the outside seat. Serena's parents
sat in the seats behind them. Sammy grinned at Serena wickedly.
"It's gonna be a seven
hour flight, Serena. In that long time frame, we might
crash." he said slyly. Serena raised an eyebrow.
"Please, Sammy. I got
over my fear of flight when I was younger than you are now."
she said dryly.
That flight was a long one.
It first stopped in Oklahoma City for a refuel, then plugged on
for another two hours to Pensacola. Finally, the airplane landed,
and the passengers got off the plane. They collected their
baggage and hailed a taxi which would take them to the house Mr.
Tsukino had bought earlier when he went on a business trip to
Pensacola in May.
Serena gaped at the large
stone house. She then whipped out the slip of paper that had
Lita's address on it.
"Oh, Mom! Lita lives
seven doors down from us!! Oh, can I go see her?" she cried
happily.
"First you have to pick
your room. Then you have to unload everything." her mother
answered. Serena scowled at the boxes, which had been sent a week
before their departure. She went into the house and up the
stairs. The hallway was long and narrow, with doors to five
bedrooms.
"Goodness. Five
bedrooms for four people." She picked the room at the end of
the hallway. Serena threw the door opened and found herself
staring into a pretty blue and cream bedroom with a bay window
just opposite the door. "Wow! I've got this room!" she
breathed, then went downstairs to drag her boxes up to her room.
She unloaded the boxes, put her bed up (with the help of her
father and Sammy), and fixed up the room. Since they had arrived
to Pensacola at 3:45 AM, it was 6:30 AM when the house was
finally finished. Then Serena crashed on her bed and slept for
most of the day, dreaming of a horned monster.
